Adrienne Berg
I teach World Literature and British Literature at Woods Charter School outside of Chapel Hill. I entered teaching through the Lateral Entry Program, and taught 7th grade English for four years in Chatham County Schools. That was challenging and fun, but I think I've found my true teaching home in high school. I especially love teaching AP Literature, with an emphasis on the chronology of British literature.
I earned my BA at Hampshire College in 1990, and have dabbled in graduate work while raising my family. Now that my children are in their teens, I plan to complete a Masters program at NCSU in New Literacies and Global Learning.
In March 2013, I led a group of high school students on a "Literary Tour of Southern England," when we visited literary and historical hotspots that I had only read about. What a thrill! The royal court and dais at Winchester, the riverside at Stratford, the National Gallery collection of Romantic landscapes ~ the trip was like a platter of delectable hors d'oevres, just whetting my appetite and making me want more.
